I have to glue my other piece together but this is a picture of my watercolor/field of mushrooms. This month was especially challenging because I waited until the last minute (I can thank Finals for that) and enended up watching a season and a half of Dexter while I haphazardly put together my second piece. Although I'm not thrilled with what I came up with I am hoping I can make some small additions to help my concentration. GAH MY EARS ARE RINGING. I miss my bed...
Oh I also struggled with the background of this, i wanted the caterpillar to be hidden but i feel like the forest eats him up;(
ReplyDeleteI really like the lines you did on the mushroom..they are super goooooooood! I liked all the colors you used in the little mushrooms but maybe to make them stard out more you could make more contrast (the darker parts darker) I also cant really see the caterpiller maybe make him a little bigger if you want him to be seen or you could draw him like coming out of the forest. great work!
ReplyDeleteThe first one is AMAZING. I love the solid black background. I know you were worried about portraying Alice in Wonderland in a literal way and you did such a good job of taking an aspect from Alice but twisting it enough so it is not literal with the cards. I would love to see the mushroom one in person because i feel like i can't really see all the details and the big mushroom coming across the top confuses me.
ReplyDeleteI really like how the caterpillar is hidden back there. (: Towards the back the 'forest' gets too busy. I'm not sure how you would change this really since it's in water color. I love the mushroom in the foreground! I almost wish the ones towards the front of the background were more defined. Maybe this would distract the eye from the busy back.
ReplyDeleteAl I really like this one... really good detail on the mushroom in the front. I love your use of color in this as well, and I like how your eye is drawn to the back of the piece. I agree with Lenae that adding some definition to the closer mushrooms would give it a little more depth.
ReplyDeleteFor your card one, I LOVE the contrast... it looks very cool. Good job girl! :)
